Pain Point Localizer

Project Description:

Patients with haemophilia suffer from pain primarily at the joints due to repeated bleeding episodes resulting in inflammation and/or degeneration, similar to osteoarthritis. The aim of this project is to comprehensively assess the joints for pain sensitivity and to link this to the underlying structural pathology measured by ultrasound. In order to graphically illustrate the interaction between structural alterations and pain perception, 3D models are being developed to provide accurate pain maps for patients and healthy individuals.
